Septerra Core

Enter the layered world of Septerra Core, a strange and mythic setting built around the mysterious Core where ancient machines still breathe beneath failing cities, prophecy shapes empires, relics are worth killing for, and every World Shell feels like its own broken world hanging above the next. This project is built as a playable RPG-inspired world rather than a direct retelling of the original game. You create your own character, choose your background, travel the Shells, build a party, take on quests, pick allies and enemies, and decide how closely your story follows the original path. Canon heroes, villains, and major factions exist here as active NPCs you can meet, aid, oppose, recruit, or get dragged into trouble by, instead of just being distant plot markers. What’s included right now: - A large playable world structure based on the World Shells of Septerra - A canon-inspired Oasis opening alongside other ways to begin play - 95 quests - 101 triggers - 44 NPCs - 308 items - 24 world lore entries - Expanded character creator support with 319 traits across 15 categories - Party-based RPG-style play with faction conflict, travel, relic hunting, exploration, and companion-driven adventure - A growing cast of canon characters woven into the world as living NPCs - Tactical combat guidance with positioning, hazards, objectives, armor, morale, weak points, relic backlash, and Fate Card risk - Expanded currencies, trade systems, tolls, salvage claims, and regional economic flavor - 90s anime / JRPG-inspired portrait styling for NPC generation to better match the world’s tone The current version puts a lot of focus on the early Septerra Core journey, with a stronger canon-style route beginning in Oasis and pushing outward through the Badlands, Azziz’s Temple, the Pumping Station, Grubb and Runner’s recruitment path, Desert Pipes, Galdon, Outlaw Canyon, and into Shell Three. At the same time, the world is built so the player is not forced to simply replay the original story beat for beat. You can follow the pressure of canon, push against it, or wander off into your own version of Septerra Core. The goal here is to make Septerra Core feel like a world you can actually adventure in: a place of rusted wonders, old grudges, faction schemes, scavengers, prophets, ruined technology, monsters in the wastes, and dangerous roads between shells. Whether you want to chase relics, side with powerful factions, gather companions, hunt monsters, survive shell politics, or get tangled up in the larger fate of the Core itself, there should be room for your own story. This world is still in development and I’m actively looking for feedback while I keep expanding it. If you remember the original game, I hope this hits that weird, worn, unforgettable Septerra Core feeling and maybe makes you feel a little old with me. If you’re new to it, welcome — I hope you enjoy exploring one of the strangest RPG worlds ever made.
