Paranoia XP

Paranoia is a satirical dystopian role-playing game set in Alpha Complex, a vast underground city controlled by an all-powerful, paranoid Computer. Citizens are constantly monitored, and society is built on mistrust, bureaucracy, and absurd loyalty tests. Everyone is encouraged to report traitors, mutants, and secret society members—while secretly being one themselves! The world is a blend of dark humor, retro-futurism, and slapstick, where following orders can be as dangerous as disobeying them, and survival often depends on your ability to outwit both the system and your fellow citizens. Remember: Happiness is mandatory, and questioning The Computer is treason (and probably hazardous to your health). Key points for players: - Mission-Driven Mayhem: Players receive bizarre, dangerous missions from The Computer, often with conflicting objectives. - Trust No One (Not Even Yourself) : Paranoia thrives on suspicion, betrayal, and backstabbing. Reporting others is encouraged, but so is lying about your own loyalty. - Secret Societies & Mutant Powers : Every character has hidden allegiances and powers, which are both a blessing and a liability if discovered. - Clones for Everyone : Death is frequent and often hilarious. Each player has a set of clones to replace them when (not if) they die. - Absurd Bureaucracy : Rules are convoluted, and following them to the letter can be as dangerous as breaking them. The game rewards creativity, quick thinking, and a sense of humor. Remember: The Computer is your friend. Happiness is mandatory. Trust is treason. And above all, have fun causing (and surviving) chaos!
