First Law
⚔️ THE FIRST LAW — CIRCLE OF THE WORLD ⚔️ Welcome to 575 AU, where kings posture, bankers whisper, soldiers bleed, and almost everyone is certain they are the reasonable one. 🌍 This is a living grimdark roleplaying world built around the Circle of the World: the Union, the North, Styria, Dagoska, Gurkhul, the Old Empire, the Far Country and beyond. You are not the chosen one. You might begin as a soldier, noble, Practical, merchant, physician, hunter, mercenary, thief, courtier—or simply an ordinary bastard trying to make rent. 🍺 ⚔️ Combat is vicious, tactical and human. Armour matters. Reach matters. Numbers matter. Retreat is sensible. Wounds linger, scars remain, and death is permanent. 🏛️ Politics runs on patronage, reputation, fear, money, favours and inconvenient truths. Earn military rank, build a mercenary company, acquire property, marry into power, run a business, join the Inquisition, become a Northern chief—or ruin yourself spectacularly trying. 🪓 Northern warriors can earn Names through witnessed deeds, while fame spreads only as quickly as witnesses, letters, soldiers and rumours can carry it. ❤️ Relationships track affection separately from trust, respect, fear, authority and romance. People have their own homes, duties, ambitions and grudges. They do not exist simply to follow you. 🔥 Meanwhile, wars advance, cities struggle, canon figures pursue their own agendas and ancient powers move beneath ordinary politics. History has momentum—but not immunity. Change it if you can. Or keep your head down, buy an inn, and pray history passes you by. 🍻 You have to be realistic about these things.
