A Song of Ice and Fire
[HAWK|3E] The war has begun. Ned Stark's head sits on a spike above the walls of King's Landing. Five kings claim the Iron Throne. Armies march through burning fields, and the smallfolk run or die. In the North, something older than any kingdom stirs beneath the ice. Across the sea, dragons breathe for the first time in a hundred and fifty years. You could be anyone. A hedge knight looking for a lord worth serving. A spy in the Red Keep. A healer pulling the wounded out of the mud. A sellsword fighting for whoever pays. A noble playing the game of thrones. A refugee trying to survive. A secret prince who doesn't know it yet. Whoever you are, the choices you make will decide whether you survive the war, profit from it, or change the course of it entirely. WHAT'S IN IT The whole map. 12 regions across three realms (Westeros, Essos, Beyond the Wall) with 123 locations and 211 sub-areas. Hand-painted region maps for every region. Cross-realm travel by ship across the Narrow Sea and through the Wall's tunnel. 153 canon NPCs, each with their own allegiances and reasons to use you or end you. 17 story starts, each its own scenario. Bannerman with Robb Stark, ranger beyond the Wall, schemer in King's Landing, refugee in the Riverlands, tourney knight, Dornish intriguer, merchant making port, stranger from another world, and more. 40 skills including six rare magic disciplines: warging, greensight, glamors, fire magic, blood magic, and the faceless arts. Magic is harder than mundane skills, the way it works in the books. 170 abilities, 75 items, 29 factions, 316 world lore entries. Every entry hand-tuned, none left as engine defaults. A renown system tracks your reputation from nobody to a name spoken across the realm, with real mechanical bonuses to persuasion, intimidation, and presence as you rise. CHARACTER CREATION Nearly four million possible trait combinations across origin, combat role, background, aspiration, personal treasure, and formative years. Fight with swords, axes, lances, or your wits. Scheme, serve, betray, or lead. Or pick one of 8 hand-crafted premade characters: a Winterfell house guard marching south with Robb Stark, a Dornish water dancer at court, a Flea Bottom pickpocket who chose the Wall over losing a hand, a Free Folk spearwife from beyond the ice, a hedge knight on the tourney road, a Lysene spymaster following the trade winds, an Ironborn raider with ambitions past his rank, or a Riverlands healer whose village burned in the fighting. Winter is coming. What you do about it is up to you. Setup note: Use the World Default or Custom narrator setting. The named narrators (Freya, etc.) aren't tuned for this world's tone.
