Dragon Ball World
## THE TRANSFORMATION UPDATES Finally, after two years of me working on Dragon Ball in Voyage, transformations are now given the mechanical significance they deserve. Prior to this, transformations were a shred of mechanical benefit but mostly narrative, Voyage does take narrative strength seriously when governing things like writing and skill checks. But now these forms provide mechanics ## HOW TRANSFORMATIONS WORK A series of triggers (100+ of them). To transform, simply do so in your turn. State the intent to transform, name the transformation, and do it. Once the turn is complete you should see a trait named after that form in your list of traits that provides a bonus to attributes, one of which is called "damage". These transformations raise your chance of succeeding skill checks significantly and raise your damage. The damage attribute is a new inclusion. Every time it goes up your damage goes up 1%. So for example, Super Saiyan provides +50 damage, so +50% for 1.5x damage. This peaks with forms like U The Realms Update So, on first inspection, you may notice that three regions are missing. However, rather than being gone, they've actually been moved. The world now has realms. Realms are entire maps. When you look at a voyage map and see the boxes, which are regions, and the blips, which are locations, realms are the containers of all of that. I have added several more that made no sense being attatched to the normal Dragon Ball world. The new realms are: Otherworld, The Timespace Rift (Conton City from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2), Beerus's World, The World of Void (The Tournament of Power arena), The Nameless Planet (The U6 V U7 arena), Sacred World of the Kai, Zeno's Palace. Each one is relatively small, only fitting what it needs to, but even still the size of this world and the immersion of it's travel to places you can't linearly travel to should be massively increased. Conton City is the biggest one, being about 21 locations on it's own. To travel to realms, you simply do so in an action. It requires the means to do so and an action. I think the action in question needs to verbatim name the realm, so defer to my list I gave above. Overall, this update adds seven realms, nine regions, and 40 locations One of my oldest worlds (Hell, one of the oldest worlds ever) that has been continually improved upon for about two years. The obvious things are obvious. It has a lot of pre-made NPC's, HEAVY instruction on combat (This is probably my best world in terms of adapting the action of the source material) and also story to keep the writing style accurate to Dragon Ball's tone, you get the picture. Here is some important/unique info: This world has a massive amount of abilities covering most every important skill and trait. Racial traits are fully integrated and allow the player to get better at wielding their biology in combat as they level up. Generally speaking all abilities range from level 1 to level 30. Level 30 is where you get all of the strongest stuff, e.g. Super Saiyan 4 or Beast, as I've literally never seen a player exceed level 30, so I figured I'd rather these things be semi-attainable with some effort rather than unreachable. Skill based abilities can go higher than 30. There are a variety of teaching based abilities, such as taking the "Goku's Teachings" skill and being given access to Kamehameha or Instant Transmission, or King Kai's teachings and getting the Kaioken and Spirit Bomb. There are also generic abilities that fall under the basic skills such as ki control, ki projection, and unarmed combat. So, for example, if you want Super Saiyan, take the Saiyan race trait and level up. If you want Super Saiyan Blue, take the Saiyan trait, god ki skill, and level up a bit, you get the idea. Certain abilities require more than one skill or trait, like Hybrid Half-Saiyan forms requiring both the Saiyan and Human traits (You can currently choose two races at once). Taking heavy inspiration from the many Dragon Ball games, the generic abilities not tied to any characters serve to give characters less likely to interact with many elements of canon some solid abilities. If you play the Dragon Ball games you'll recognise many staples such as "Power up to the Very Limit", "Wild Sense", "False Courage", "Afterimage", "Full Power Energy Wave", "Meteor Crash/Strike", etc. Locations: Many prominent locations have been added to the world. Space and other noteworthy planets are separated by generic space regions whereas specifically noteworthy planets have been made regions. Otherworld and places outside conventional reality, such as the Tournament of Power arena or Conton City from Xenoverse 2, are separated from the material world. There are also a variety of generic/biome locations on Earth that act as battlefields with nothing super special going on, for the typical Dragon Ball trope of "lets take this fight elsewhere". Travel speed has been turned way up to allow for faster travel between locations.
