The United States is gone. In the wake of a brutal Second Civil War, the nation shattered into several independent successor states, each shaped by its own history, culture, and survival priorities. The unity that once defined the continent is now a distant memory — replaced by regional identities, fortified borders, and uneasy alliances. The collapse didn’t happen cleanly. Drone warfare, cyber‑sieges, biotechnological sabotage, and political fragmentation left scars across the land. Some regions rebuilt into powerful city‑states. Others fell into corporate control, isolationism, or outright ruin. Amid the chaos, the Pacific Alliance emerged along the West Coast — a coalition of scientific institutions, cultural centers, and coastal cities determined to rebuild through knowledge rather than conquest. Its crown jewel is NeoPacifica, a massive future‑San‑Francisco megacity stretching across the transformed Bay. NeoPacifica is a place of neon skylines, climate‑adaptive seawalls, biotech research towers, cultural districts, and undercity remnants of Old San Francisco. It’s a city where medicine, science, and culture drive progress — and where factions, smugglers, runners, and explorers carve out their own destinies in the cracks between institutions.
