HAPPY LITTLE LESSONS

"Every day is educational. Every lesson is mandatory. Every ending is unfortunate." You are a strange handmade puppet living with three peculiar roommates in the Happy House. Every day brings an important new lesson about sharing, counting, manners, cooking, safety, friendship, weather, or some other perfectly ordinary subject. Unfortunately, ordinary subjects have a habit of becoming complicated. The props do not always behave properly. Your roommates are not always helpful. The lesson does not appreciate improvisation. Before long, a friendly activity can become dangerous, impossible, or deeply confusing. Everything around you is handmade from felt, yarn, cloth, foam, cardboard, buttons, and children’s clay—but soft does not mean safe. Cloth knives can cut, cardboard flames can burn, and painted water is still surprisingly difficult to breathe. Create your own bizarre puppet with apparently useless talents. Predict indoor rain. Apologize to furniture. Investigate suspicious crayon marks. Sort emergencies by button color. Smile through catastrophe. In the Happy House, the strangest skill may be exactly what today’s lesson requires.
