Continentia
Continentia is a grounded fantasy medieval world of kingdoms, duchies, counties, castles, abbeys, ports and rival noble houses. Power is built through bloodlines, feudal oaths, marriage alliances, church legitimacy, taxes, mines, toll roads, military service and inheritance law. There is no empire at the start. The highest secular title is king or queen. Great houses compete through claims, marriages, hostages, church approval, mercenary contracts and quiet political pressure rather than open magic or heroic spectacle. The world is inspired by the 10th–11th centuries: heavy cavalry, household knights, levy spearmen, archers, castle garrisons, bishoprics, abbeys, frontier lords, merchant ports and tense royal courts. Every region has its own crisis, culture, ruling houses and local struggles. Custom noble starts are prepared for the vacant Duchy of Thornmere and the vacant County of Ashford, where the player must survive inheritance politics, local suspicion, vassal pressure and rival noble ambitions.
