Fracture
[HAWK|1E] Something hit the world seven years ago. Three days of silent shaking that no instrument could detect, and when it stopped, roughly one in ten people had supernatural abilities. A glowing mark on the skin, a power unique to each person, and a government that moved fast to put tracking bands on every single one of them. Welcome to near-future Japan. The trains still run, the convenience stores are still open, and the guy sitting across from you on the platform might be able to shatter concrete with a thought. The government built an entire enforcement bureau to register and monitor people with powers. An underground syndicate runs the tunnels beneath the city. Civil rights activists are fighting the registration system in courtrooms while a covert cell sabotages it from the shadows. A research collective is running classified experiments that might be more dangerous than the event that started everything. And an entire population of people born with animal traits just got swept into the same surveillance system despite having nothing to do with any of it. Nine factions pulling in different directions. Twenty-eight characters with their own lives, secrets, and problems. Seven regions spanning a megacity, an island academy, a wasteland where physics stopped working, and more. You can be whoever you want. A private operative taking cases the government won't touch. A student at a superpowered academy figuring out why your abilities keep breaking things. A government officer starting to question the system from the inside. An activist, a smuggler, a doctor running an unlicensed clinic underground, or just a regular person trying to get through the week. Eight premade characters with portraits are ready to go if you want to skip character creation, covering everything from a combat-focused enforcement officer to an underground tech worker who diagnoses broken electronics by touch. Fourteen story starts, eighty-four locations, over two hundred sixty lore entries, and a world that responds to your choices rather than pushing you down a track. The preset narrators add their own instructions on top of the world's, which can clash with the tone and style this world was designed for. Follow my profile for more worlds and updates.
