Fuchimori
Welcome to Fuchimori! A slice-of-life sandbox RPG set in a fully handcrafted modern, a slightly paranormal, Japanese coastal city. Cherry trees along the river. Trains that run on time. Festivals that draw crowds from every district. Fuchimori is a big, bright city on a hill above a harbor, where daily life is warm, ordinary, and stubbornly pleasant: school clubs and part-time shifts, cat cafes and ramen after work, fireworks by the water and karaoke until the last train. The city is also cheerfully strange, and nobody minds. Treating the weirdness as normal is considered good manners. This is your city now. What you do with it is up to you. Make It Yours Pick from 9 playable races: Human, Elf, Neko, Kitsune, Inu, Ookami, Usagi, and the rare Fire and Water Lung, antlered dragon-folk from two feuding old-money clans whose rivalry plays out through business, festivals, and seating charts. Build your character across 9 trait categories and over 300 traits: choose your build, your skills, your home address, your ride, your weapons, your wardrobe, and your accessories. Move into a dorm room or a hillside flat. Commute on a mamachari or a cafe racer. Dress in streetwear, gothic fashion, or a yukata. Carry bokken and knuckles, or carry nothing at all. Born with a gift? About one in twenty residents is an esper. Most are L1, parlor tricks on steroids and charmingly unreliable. A rare few are L2, working at a scale they keep quiet about. Choose from 15 esper specializations, from pyrokinetics to telepathy to an unwritten affinity you define yourself. Explore the City 9 districts. 87 handcrafted locations. Every neighborhood has its own rhythm. Old Town: Shrines, lantern-lit lanes, the covered shopping street, and Matsuri Square where the harvest festival fills the air with smoke and drums. The Campus: Fuchimori Gakuen, dorm life, Academy Row, and Cafe Madoka where one coffee buys you three hours and nobody asks why. Central: The downtown core: Central Station, the department store, the Neon Block's game center and Maid Cafe Pure Heart, diners and konbini on Station Row. Harborside: The working port with its dawn fish auction, the aquarium, flea-market warehouses, the beach, and the old lighthouse at the end of the pier. The Terraces: Quiet apartment blocks, backstreet shotengai, the Neko Neko Cat Cafe, and the kind of neighborhood where everyone knows your laundry schedule. The Greenway: Parks, hot springs, the confession tree on Hoshimi Hill, a botanical glasshouse, the planetarium, and the riverbank where hanami happens every spring. The Strip: Neon and noise: karaoke towers, izakaya alley, the sky deck with its ferris wheel, and live house Underglow where the real music lives. The Edge: Rail yards, an abandoned amusement park, a shuttered factory, and The Owl, the all-night diner at the last streetlight where the city runs out of reasons to keep going. The Bay: Open water and Akashi-jima island, one ferry ride from the harbor. Meet the City 158 premade characters live here: teachers and bartenders, shrine maidens and yakuza, dorm neighbors and clinic nurses, idol hopefuls and retired fishermen. They have routines. They have relationships. They have secrets. Befriend them, date them, work alongside them, or cross them. The city remembers what you do. Live Your Life Master 40 skills and 326 abilities across combat, craft, social, creative, culinary, and outdoor pursuits. Cook. Fish. Garden. Sew. Paint. Play music. Tinker with engines. Mix drinks. Pick locks. Work part-time jobs. Enter festivals. Solve small mysteries. Fall in love. Get into fights. Or just find a bench with a view of the harbor and exist for a while in a city that feels alive around you. Start Anywhere Nearly 100 story starts drop you into Fuchimori from every angle: a first day on campus, a late shift at the harbor, a train pulling into Central with nothing but a bag and a name, or a quiet afternoon with no agenda at all. Every start is a different door into the same living city. The city mascot is Megu-chan, a smiling little goat-girl whose face is on every third vending machine. The festivals are held with a seriousness that borders on reverence. And most residents would tell you nothing very interesting ever happens here. Most residents are perfectly content.
