Kagerō
Kagerō A Taisho-era-inspired fantasy world where the line between myth and reality runs through every dusk. Beneath cherry blossoms and lantern-lit streets, Kagerō balances on the edge between tradition and the first creeping edges of modernity. To most who live here, demons are nothing more than old campfire stories — the kind of thing grandparents warn children about, half-believed and mostly forgotten by daylight. But the stories are true. When the sun goes down, flesh-hungry, immortal creatures born from a centuries-old curse walk among the unsuspecting, and only a hidden order of swordsmen — the Slayer Corps — stands between the world and the dark. Slayers train in secret at The Sanctuary, mastering ancient Breathing Styles that let a trained human body move faster than the eye can follow, wielding blades forged from ore that drinks sunlight itself — the only weapon capable of ending a demon for good. At the top of the demon hierarchy sit the Twelve Moons, monstrous figures who claw their way to power one killing at a time, answering to a Sovereign whose true nature and goals remain a mystery even the Corps' oldest records can't fully explain. This is a world of quiet honor and sudden violence, where death is real and permanent, where every night is a battle for survival, and every dawn is a small, hard-won victory. Villages sit wary at the treeline. Shrine keepers ring warning bells at sundown. And somewhere between the Whisper Woods' fog-choked canopy and the volcanic peaks to the south, ordinary people are quietly becoming something more — for better, or for something much worse. A world that takes heavy inspiration from the demon slayer universe.
