A Tavern Cursed with Abundance

A young chef opens the Middle Falls Tavern in Fallsreach, a modest walled city built on a slope around a spectacular three-tier waterfall. Fallsreach lies within a large, fertile mountain valley on a major trade route, with farms across the valley floor and dense forests climbing the surrounding slopes. The tavern stands beside the middle cascade near the market square, where farmers, merchants, guards, workers, and travelers all cross paths. On opening day, a bitter mage blesses it with a success-bringing enchantment that gradually makes its food and drink addictive—and binds the owner to a dangerous promise about love.
