BattleTech - Full Lore - v0.1 - Play Test

Full Lore Battletech Game World - This is a WORK IN PROGRESS! I am opening up for play testing now, it is not the final product!!! Getting Lore Updates Now *Updated* BT-2.5D Update What changed recently: Added timeline-anchored story starts, now 11 total Added stronger opening-scene fidelity so the chosen start should not collapse into generic “pirates attack” Added role/life-path character creation options: Origins Roles Training / Connections Personal Pressures Character creation choices now personalize the opening scene Non-pilot starts are supported: ComStar, civilians, techs, militia, Clan caste roles, DropShip life, mod-culture origins, etc. BattleMech access is still separate from character identity, so choosing a pilot-style background does not automatically hand out a ’Mech Personal Pressure traits are story hooks, not automatic punishment Bitching Betty/resource sync and no-stale-100/100 armor guidance are preserved Era/timeline protection is preserved, including 3048 origins vs 3058 later timelines Feline/mod-culture wording is now biological implants / biosculpt / identity-expression framing, not Clan-style bioengineering **BattleTech Voyage World Update** I pushed a new BattleTech world update focused on making BattleMechs feel more like actual BattleMechs without turning the game into full tabletop bookkeeping. Big changes include: * Starting ’Mechs now have their own abstract Armor / Structure values instead of everyone secretly feeling like 100/100. * Light, medium, heavy, and assault machines should feel more different in play. * The GM should stop treating Armor as a universal percentage bar for known profiled ’Mechs. * More common Inner Sphere and Clan ’Mechs now have authored abstract profiles so the narrator has data to check before making stuff up. * Added support for proper ’Mech tradeoffs: fragile scouts, armored brawlers, missile boats, over-gunned heat traps, command heavies, Clan monsters, etc. * Clan machines should require actual narrative setup instead of randomly appearing as pirate/militia spawns. * Added **Bitching Betty Protocol** as an official cockpit diagnostic/resource-reporting rule. Bitching Betty is basically the onboard cockpit warning/diagnostic voice. She can report armor, structure, heat, ammo, readiness, sensor uncertainty, and correct stale 100/100 resource displays when the assigned ’Mech has an authored profile. She is not omniscient, though. She should not reveal hidden enemies, exact unconfirmed variants, salvage contents, employer secrets, or off-screen plot info unless the character has a real in-game reason to know it. This update is mostly about making the narrator check the world’s authored BattleMech data before inventing answers. --- Mechanics Update --- - vehicle/mech-scale hits should route to mech armor, structure, readiness, heat, or ammo first - pilot Health should only drop when the pilot is actually personally endangered - machine guns should feel light against armored BattleMechs - PPCs/heavy weapons should feel meaningfully more dangerous than machine guns
