Character Core
A mod that improves how characters act, with their personalities, actions, opinions, and feelings evolving organically with how they are impacted in the story. This is a mod that purely uses triggers (16 in total | only 9 story triggers) to detect specific situations in the story and instruct the AI storyteller to do different things when those story events happen. Most event triggers are on a cooldown so that they are spaced out and don't trigger too rapidly within your story. If you do encounter any issues with pacing, please message me on the discord (@purplejump). ------- FEATURES ------- - When you are in conversation with a character that doesn't know your name, they may ask (new) - Characters related to other groups/factions may try and recruit you if they know you (new) - Companions will now start conversations that don't have to involve the player character during points of rest. These conversations can reveal features of the character like core values, backstory, etc. - While at a point of rest and not actively participating in conversation, a character may begin doing a task or activity that fits with their role and personality. - If damaged while at low health, companions can take a permanent physical or mental injury that cannot be healed, even with magic. - When a companion is actively dying, they may attempt to do a few things to make the moment a bit more dramatic. Companions that see this death will react in line to their connection with the dying character. - Companions can have defining moments that effect the story direction and reveal traits about themselves. - Characters you encounter can change in terms of appearance, affiliation, and personality significantly over time. - Companions can now go off on their own while in towns or cities to do things with their own agency like buy equipment, purchase housing, talk with the locals, etc - Companions can now exile others from the party through various methods if the majority agrees - Companions now have a chance to unlock abilities related to their identity when pushed to their limits near death - If a companion is negatively impacted enough by a player or npc companion, they may leave the party - Companions may attempt to take a hit for other party members, blocking the damage that they would have taken (using an ability, skill, or item) - Companions will occasionally purchase or sell stuff while in town
