F.I.R.E.

# 🔥 F.I.R.E **Fluid - Intelligent - Reactive - Encounter** **Combat Framework for Voyage** ## 💡 About F.I.R.E is the final mod in my trio of Voyage frameworks. I wanted to improve that side of Voyage using player feedback and common complaints. The goal is not to replace Voyage's combat system. **F.I.R.E pushes combat toward better tactics, consequences and world-consistent behavior.** ## ⚔️ Smarter Combat Combatants can consider goals, equipment, positioning, range, cover, terrain, mobility, injuries, morale, allies and escape routes. Training, role, intelligence, species and experience can shape how somebody fights. * 🏹 Ranged fighters may keep distance * 🛡️ Durable fighters may protect allies * ⚡ Fast fighters may flank * 🪖 Soldiers may coordinate * 😨 Cowardly enemies may flee * 🐺 Creatures may fight through instinct A thug should not fight like an elite soldier, and a civilian should not become a master warrior because the player is high level. ## 🗡️ Weapons, Scale & Lethality A fist, knife, rifle, giant weapon, spell or sci-fi weapon should not all behave like cosmetic versions of the same attack. F.I.R.E considers lethality, durability, armor, shields, surprise, range, precision, weak points and established resistances. Weak enemies should not become damage sponges, while powerful targets should survive for in-world reasons. ## 🥊 Nonlethal Combat F.I.R.E distinguishes between unarmed combat, grappling, subdual, capture, sparring, training, warning attacks and genuine lethal combat. A friendly spar should not randomly become murder unless something causes it. ## ☠️ Effects & Continuity Poison, burning, freezing, stun, blindness, fear, restraint, curses, transformations and unusual magical or technological effects should follow the host world's rules. Established durations, cures and limitations are preserved instead of replaced by random timers. Important injuries, damaged equipment, prisoners and ongoing effects can remain relevant afterward. ## 🥷 Ambushes, Terrain & Groups Enemies may use ambushes, traps, concealment, alarms, reinforcements, chokepoints and cover when plausible. Combat scale matters: * 👤 Individuals rely on personal ability * 👥 Small groups coordinate roles * 🪖 Squads use teamwork and objectives * ⚔️ Armies focus on command, terrain, morale and reserves Large battles should not feel like hundreds of unrelated duels. ## 🏳️ More Than Death Fighters may retreat, surrender, flee, negotiate, be captured, become incapacitated or accomplish their objective. Death is only one possible result. ## 🌎 Designed for Different Worlds F.I.R.E adapts to historical, fantasy, modern, sci-fi, magical, monstrous or superhuman settings. If the world allows lightning magic, firearms, energy weapons or giant creatures, F.I.R.E works with those rules instead of forcing everything into medieval sword fighting. ## 🎯 Goal F.I.R.E is not meant to make combat harder for difficulty's sake. It is meant to make combat feel more believable within the world. Less: **"Enemy sees player. Enemy attacks."** More: **"They know what they're fighting, what they're capable of, and what they're trying to accomplish."** ## 📰 News **18-08-2026:** I wanted to complete my trio of mods, so a combat framework felt fitting. H.V.A.M, MØNT and F.I.R.E now cover three important parts of Voyage gameplay: NPCs, economics and combat. As usual, please leave a review or comment on how it fares. I'm shipping this one now. 🚬🚬🚬 19-08-2026: Update nuff said 🚬🚬🚬
