Instead of requiring every possible skill to be authored ahead of time, SkillWeave can track focused abilities as they become relevant through play—things like Sourdough Baking, Horse Grooming, Generator Diagnostics, Archive Research, Wound Suturing, or setting-specific techniques. Related experience can gradually consolidate into broader expertise, allowing long-running characters to grow naturally without filling their skill history with hundreds of tiny overlapping entries. A built-in set of 36 broad, setting-neutral competencies gives standalone worlds immediate coverage across physical, social, academic, professional, survival, crafting, technical, and everyday activities. SkillWeave complements a world's existing mechanics rather than replacing them. If LCX is installed, LC-SkillWeave automatically hands its competency configuration to LCX, and LCX takes over competency processing natively. Installing both is not recommended, because LCX already includes LC-SkillWeave-style competency functionality. LC-SkillWeave’s LCX handoff exists mainly for compatibility and configuration transfer, not because LCX needs the separate runtime.
