Chrome Dome's Circumstance System

A simple system I've developed so that laying out plans that're not immediately driven or motivated by you do actually occur and have dynamic results. How it works: The skill: Circumstance is simply a skill. It is given by a trigger at tick 1, so essentially the first turn the player takes they're granted the circumstance skill at level 15 via a granted trait. I believe I can't stop this from levelling so it will increase over time, which can be reasoned as you just getting better at planning or predicting or something. When the player lays a plan or tries to find out the result of something they themselves cannot influence, a circumstance check is rolled. An example would be commanding someone to go do something and trying to find out the result. Actioninfo instructions: Adds a bit of actioninfo instruction to make circumstance checks consistently occur. Story instruction: Handles narration of actual results of a circumstance check. Here's an example of what a circumstance check would be like: As an example, you've sent an assassin after an enemy, and now you're waiting on word. It would roll a circumstance check, and the results would influence as such: Critical Success: The plan succeeds and produces a secondary windfall — the assassination goes clean, and your enemy's death gets blamed on another of your rivals, sparking conflict between them. Success: The plan succeeds without a hitch. Basic Success: As above — it simply works. Mixed Results: The plan works, but with complications — a witness was left behind and everyone now knows it was an assassination, or your assassin comes back gravely wounded. Failure: The plan fails flat out. Critical Failure: The plan fails with dire further consequences — your assassin is captured, tortured for information, and gives you up. The target now comes for you. This should add some dynamisn and actual results to plans formed. Ideally this should make things like being a planner or mastermind more fun and interesitng, providing guaranteed results and consequences.
