Living Appearance
It is *NOT* fully tested yet, feedback is more than welcome ## Living Appearance Living Appearance helps Voyage maintain consistent player-character appearance across long-running stories. The mod tracks two kinds of information: **Persistent Appearance** keeps established physical details such as species, height, build, skin color, fur or scale color, hair, eyes, facial hair, and lasting distinctive features. Permanent changes during play—such as haircuts, hair dye, scars, tattoos, or other lasting transformations—can update the character's stored appearance instead of being forgotten later. **Temporary Condition** tracks short-term physical presentation, including body and clothing dirtiness, wetness, odor, hair messiness, and visible contaminants such as mud, blood, dust, ash, soot, sand, oil, slime, and sweat. Body and clothing are tracked separately, allowing situations such as changing into clean clothes without automatically cleaning the character, or bathing without laundering dirty clothing. Living Appearance only affects player characters and supports multiplayer games. NPC appearance and condition remain under normal Voyage narrative continuity. The mod never invents missing appearance details. It only preserves information that has actually been established. ### Setup Add every trait from your world's **Race** trait category to the mod's `RACE_TRAITS` list. These are used to determine each player's species automatically. No individual player setup is required. All other appearance details are learned from established character and story information, while temporary conditions are tracked automatically as relevant events occur during play. The mod does not track injuries, fatigue, hunger, temperature, clothing damage, or individual garments.
